Workstation energy monitors
Our team have the power to be Energy-saving Champions. From individual energy monitors to power-down buttons, much of our team can visually see the energy they’re using every day. Moreover, everything that’s plugged into their workstation can be fully switched off at the press of a button. As a result, nothing is left on standby unnecessarily.
Once all workstations are fitted with energy monitors, we hope to reduce power usage by over 30%, in our offices.
Recyclable packaging & tape cores
We’re not only reducing our packaging, we’re on a mission to make any packaging we do use from either recyclable or biodegradable materials. Furthermore, we’re working on making the products themselves more environmentally friendly too. More news will be announced shortly.
You’ll start seeing changes to our packaging and the inner cores of our tape rolls soon!
Hybrid vehicles & car-sharing
Our pool car fleet is now entirely hybrid-powered. We also plan to add fully-electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles in the future.
Additionally, we’re encouraging our team to reduce their carbon-footprint outside of work, too. As a result, many of our team now take part in car-sharing for their journey to and from work. It’s early days, but this initiative already saves approximately 250miles of driving, per week.
Making our products greener
We’re constantly researching and developing our products to be more environmentally friendly. Additionally, we plan to introduce a range of tapes and labels that are specifically focused on reducing the use of plastics, and increasing recyclability.
Ultimately, our long-term aim is to maximise the amount of recycled material in our products, minimise energy usage and make our products recyclable at the end of their life. It’s a big ambition, but we’ve already come a very long way and will be announcing more on this soon!
Low energy workstations & lighting
Computers and indoor lights are things many of us use on a daily basis. As a result, they can be a great place to start when looking to reduce energy usage.
At Le Mark, all new PCs, laptops and monitors now have to comply without our strict energy policy and all office lighting is now low-energy LED. Furthermore, we’re adding power-down buttons to our workstations which help ensure nothing is left on standby when not in use.
