Le Mark and the National Theatre – Touring in Harmony

A specially staged production of the National Theatre’s award-winning play, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, has completed a 12-week tour of 60 schools across the UK. The production was designed by Olivier and Tony Award-winner Bunny Christie and the actors performed on a custom printed Le Mark Harmony™ Value floor.

Tom Lee, Production Manager, National Theatre, said, “We visited five secondary schools each week and required a floor that could be laid easily, removed easily and that would look as good at the last performance as it did at the first. With Le Mark Harmony we found that.”

“We had to tour the show to around 60 venues during the 12 weeks, so the floor needed to come up and down daily. We also had to make sure it was suitable for a heavily movement-based show, which involved a lot of dance/movement sequences as well as set pieces being pushed around all over it. The floor lasted well and we only had to order one set of flooring for the entire tour!

“Customer service from Le Mark was brilliant, as always. We had a problem with one floor piece arriving in a slightly different colour (a minor printer issue), which Hannah worked to replace as soon as possible and with no fuss. We swapped it in and it had no effect on the show at all.

“I recently came back for another printed floor for a new production. Again, it was a blissfully easy order process, good price and long lasting. I’ll definitely be back for future shows!”
