What Is Custom Gaffer / Cloth Tape?

Custom gaffer tape, also known as custom printed cloth tape, is a strong, versatile adhesive tape with a woven cloth backing that can be printed with your own logo, text, branding or messaging.

Unlike standard unprinted gaffer tape, custom printed cloth tape allows you to combine the practical benefits of gaffer tape with clear branding and identification. It can be used to identify equipment, organise production areas, secure cables and temporary fixtures, or communicate important information.

The cloth backing is tough, flexible and hand tearable, making the tape quick and easy to apply without scissors. Its surface can also be written on by hand, allowing you to add names, numbers, dates or other essential information when needed.

Ordering

MOQs vary depending on roll width.

24mm = MOQ 18 rolls

48mm = MOQ 9 rolls

Unfortunately, due to the setup and clean down times of all our print machinery, we’re unable to mix different designs within the same MOQ or order run.

Yes. If you find the same like-for-like product anywhere else, we’ll do our best to match it.

Don’t forget that with our custom printed tape, there are no hidden charges. Any artwork or delivery charges are clearly displayed on your quote.

You can expect delivery of your printed tape within 7-10 days of order confirmation. Please check with us first as lead times may vary, especially during busier times.

As standard, our rolls are produced onto 72mm cores. We can also supply cores in a variety of different sizes to accommodate standard tape guns and packing machinery.

Design

Custom Cloth Tape can be printed with up to 3 colours, depending on the design. However, it is not suitable for particularly detailed designs due to the textured surface of the tape.

The maximum repeat length for any printed tape design is 502mm.

We’ll work with you anyway we can, but preferably, and for the best quality, we ask that artwork is supplied in a Vector Graphic AI/Eps file or a high resolution PDF (1MB or above).

We find that printing to Pantones gives us the best final finish. We’re happy to work with you and convert the CMYK, HEX or RAL to the closest Pantone.

Product and performance

Custom Gaffer Tape is water-resistant, and if applied to a clean, dry surface, can be used outdoors for short-term applications.

Yes. Printed gaffer tape is produced onto Le Mark’s MagTape Ultra, a professional-grade gaffer tape that peels clean up to 90-days after application. Always test on a small area first as some surfaces and environments can cause the adhesive to transfer.

Yes. The tape has a write-on surface, allowing you to add important information by hand when you need to.

Ordering your custom printed gaffer tape is straightforward.

Select your roll quantity, tape width and number of print colours.

2. Send us your artwork

Upload your logo or artwork, or ask our design team to help create your tape design. We also have a selection of downloadable templates to help get you started.

3. Approve your design

We’ll work with you to make sure your artwork is ready for production.

4. We print your tape

Your custom printed polypropylene tape is produced to your approved design.

5. Receive your order

Delivery is typically within 7–10 days of order confirmation, although lead times can vary during busy periods.
